Peroxidase Enzyme

Peroxidase Enzyme are enzymes that primarily function to oxidize hydrogen donors using peroxides. They have a high specificity for hydrogen peroxide and can accept a wide range of hydrogen donors, including polyphenols. These enzymes are glycoproteins with a hematin compound as a cofactor and have molecular weights ranging from 30 to 55 kDa. They exhibit optimum activity between pH 4 and 7 and are sometimes activated by calcium ions. Peroxidases are widely used in immunological detection diagnostic kits, in industrial wastewater treatment, and in various industrial applications[1].
